Position: RCC/RSW Independent Contractor EMDR Therapist

Posting Qualifications for RCC/RSW EMDR Therapist:

​

• Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Social Work

• An RCC/RSW with a minimum one-year post graduation clinical experience AND a history of working in the helping field for 2 plus years, OR a minimum of three plus years post-grad clinical experience

• EMDR Basic training completion

• Post Basic Training experience facilitating EMDR is an asset however is not required as Tara is an Approved EMDR Consultant and can provide consultation and support for candidates with all levels of experience

• Have a goal to become a Certified EMDR Therapist

• Willing to work with individual adults exclusively using EMDR

• Uses a trauma-informed approach

• Experience working with PTSD and understands dissociation

• Solid intake and case-planning skills

• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously

• Show proof of current liability insurance

• Copy of current and clean police records check

• Ability to take professional notes

• Show proof of current registration with professional college

• Cultural competence in practice

• Current business license

• Participates in ongoing professional development, training, peer supervision and clinical supervision

• Ethical compliance to professional codes of conduct

• Openness to learn the Jane system and take free training from the website

• Willing to network with other professionals, relevant community businesses/members to promote your business to help generate clients

• Build good working relationships with other Kindred Counselling associates

• Put provide a Worksafe clearance letter

• Openness to become a provider with: Crime Victims Assistance Program, The First Nations Health Authority and ICBC for referral purposes

There are currently four very valued associates who you can read about in the Kindred Team Tab. We have a therapy playroom and an adult EMDR office with all the latest technology used in EMDR therapy.

The offices are in the Suite 201 and 301 in the Enterprise Centre and are among other health-related professionals who rent offices as well. It is a friendly, quiet, and professional environment that includes all the amenities you would expect in a functioning office environment.
