I identify with the pronouns she/her/hers. I have been in the social services field for 25 years working with children, youth and families in the Vancouver community. I hold a BA in Child & Youth Care from the University of Victoria (2010). I hold a MA in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University (2015) and I am Registered Clinical Counsellor.

Post graduation I have trained to become a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist and an Approved EMDR Consultant. The combination of my degrees, post-graduate certifications and my 25 years experience, has afforded me a unique specialization of skills to intervene effectively with children, youth and adults and now as a mentor for other therapists.

I believe in the life-changing outcomes of EMDR therapy because of my own EMDR therapy experience and witnessing my clients recover from trauma and transform into the person they are meant to be.

Trauma can change you at your core and steer you off the path away from the person you are meant to be. EMDR therapy can guide you back to the path again and toward your true self. I've seen people transform time and time again in all ages, all walks of life, all different mental health issues and so on.  Furthermore, by the time clients leave EMDR therapy they are left with the skills needed to manage any challenges in the future.

It's NEVER too late and things are NEVER too far gone to start therapy and make a change. EMDR therapists are trained to work with trauma and can handle the good, bad and ugly that comes up in therapy. You are in good hands with us!

I'm Sarah, my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a practicing psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Workers. I graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2011. I later completed a Master of Social Work degree at Western University in 2018.

My goal in the therapy room is to create a safe space that allows you to get to the root cause of your distress in order to move forward in life. I am often described as direct, but am committed to provide a warm, welcoming and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.

Between my undergraduate and graduate degree, I spent time living and working overseas as a kindergarten teacher in Seoul, South Korea and in Hong Kong. Prior to moving back to Canada, I studied to become a meditation instructor in Rishikesh, India.

I am a firm believer and practitioner of client-centred  and trauma informed care. Together, we can work towards bringing the parts of you that are seeking change in order to heal. I am comfortable sitting with clients who are working through difficult emotions, feelings and memories. I specialize in supporting clients who feel held back by their past experiences or traumas. I have helped many clients over the years suffering from complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic, depression, personality disorders, psychosis and phobias. I work collaboratively with clients from an EMDR therapy perspective along with an adjunct of mindfulness.

In addition to my EMDR certification, I have a certification as a sound practitioner and can integrate the grounding vibrational properties of sound with crystal singing bowls in session to create a deeply transformative and supportive space for you. In my spare time, you can find me travelling, in the mountains, spending time with my husband  or catching up on the latest Netflix documentaries.
